10 Things that Give me Joy

I get it’s a bit cheesy but finding the things that slightly make your day makes it a lot easier to let go of other things…

As I’ve put out a lot of minimalism games, ‘rules’ and ideas over the past few posts and I understand that it can be a bit daunting. This is because most of them really brutally talk about getting rid of stuff - that obviously at some point you did want..

So today there’s a bit less focus on physical things as such and the focus is more on general things that make my life better, that bring me joy.

  1. Inherited things

I really enjoy repurposing old or vintage items, especially when they’re super great quality and have some meaning behind them!

  2. Living things

    Plants plants plants!

  3. Reorganising things

Usually I actually prefer reorganising other peoples stuff (hit me up haha) but sometimes we just need to have a look at everything and give it a home.

  4. Natural things

During the lockdown something that I’ve really appreciated is some decent weather and being about the spend some time going on walks around the local area.

  5. Fitness things

Something I hate thinking about doing but once the workout is done feel much better for doing so. At the moment I’m attempting Chloe Ting’s Free Workout programs!

  6. Relaxing things

For me this is just taking a minute alone, either in the bath or laying in bed next to my salt-lamp where you can reflect with no distractions.. Don’t be surprised if you catch me giving myself a whispered pep-talk at this point.

  7. Exploring things

Travel! Whether we’re going to be stuck in the UK on a staycation, jetting off to a cultural city for the weekend or planning my next bucket list trip - Get me there ASAP!

  8. Gifted things

Now this is a tricky one… With minimalism on my mind and not a lot of space for physical things gifts are always a questionable one, especially as I don’t usually ‘want’ anything. However more recently any gifts I have been given are things I need (if physical items), things I can do (an activity like a spa day) or food (and I love food)!

  9. Drawing things

As you can tell I enjoy drawing and designing - hence my store! It’s a skill that I can practice and one that I genuinely enjoy whether it is an individual piece or a personalised illustration for one of you!

  10. All things food…

Something that Ash and I do a lot is eat out (Well we did pre-lockdown!). So much so we attended Wing Fest… A festival all about chicken wings where I was in a chicken wing eating competition and here’s the photos to prove it!

Load of bits and bobs to think about there but these are some of the things that I personally enjoy and focus on…What do you think would be on your list?
